Project Log: March 27

Today I finished putting on the linoleum. The tiles look pretty even. The only problem is that they are rough around the edges. This is OK because this will not be the focus of our project. Once I did this I started working on the written packet. This was a little hard because the formatting was weird. I got through a lot of questions.

Tomorrow will be a very productive day. I will work on all of the piping. I will bring in the toilet and the sink. Once I have them I will begin. I should be done with the physical product after tomorrow.

I am doing great. I feel like I am on task.

Project Log: March 25

Today we started to put on the linoleum. It took us a bit but we were able to get most oft it finished. It was a very detailed job and we had a lot of trouble because our plywood was a little crooked. This just meant we had to slow down and take our time.

Tomorrow I will not be working on the project because I have a field trip to the courthouse.

I feel like we are on task and moving at a good speed.

Project Log: March 24

Today I got a lot done. We were actually very fortunate because a classmate gave us an entire piece of plywood. This really helped because up to that point we only had pieces of plywood that were just not the right size. This saved us a lot of time. We just measured it out and cut out the piece we needed. We secured the piece onto the frame we had. We used normal screws to do this. After we finished securing it, we pre-drilled the holes for the wheels. Once we did that we were able to screw in the wheels. This finished our base.

Tomorrow I will see if I can start putting the vinyl tile on the base.

With the work we did today I feel like we are ahead of the game.

Project Log: March 23

Today I did not really work on my project because we were introduced a lab that took up a lot of the class. We did cut a piece of plywood for out frame. I also made a list of materials that I would need for tomorrow. I believe that is all we did today.

Tomorrow I should have the rest of materials to finish the base. I should be able to finish by tomorrow depending on other class assignments.

I think I will have to hurry up a bit tomorrow because of the work we did not do today.

Project Log: March 20

Today I brought in the materials to finish the supports on the base. It was just a few small 2" by 4"s that were needed to finish it. We started by securing pieces of wood in between our frame. This made it sturdier. We then used corner pieces to make the corners stronger. We nailed in the wood using a small hammer. We ran into a few problems because our wood would chip or break so we would have to get new corners.

On Monday I will bring in some plywood in order to finish the base. I am also going to try and bring in some wheels so we can get it rolling. Once we do this we can begin the work on the toilet.

I think we are on task moving carefully towards the due date. I don't see anything wrong with our productivity.

Project Log: March 19

Today I brought in materials to start working on the base. The purpose of the base will be to support the toilet and the sink. It will also have wheels in order to increase our displays mobility. It is essential to have a movable base in order to show the audience each component of the project. Today we actually got most of the frame done. We used 2"x 4"x 10' wood to make a frame that was 3' x 5'. We used smaller pieces in order to make the supports in the middle. Our frame is almost complete but we are still missing a few supports to make our product sturdier.

Tomorrow I will bring more 2"x 4" in order to finish the supports. I will also be bringing in the plywood in order to start creating the top. This would bring us close to finishing our base.

I feel like I am doing great for the first few work days. I am amazed at what I already accomplished.

Project Log: March 18

Today I do not have the materials to work on the actual product. I did in fact, work on the written aspect of it. In other words what was going to essentially explain my work to the audience. I worked on what my poster board would display. Since I did not need to have the product in order to do this it was quite easy.

Tomorrow I will hope to have some materials in order to work on the physical aspect of it. If I do manage to get some it will mostly be smaller parts like the pipes. The big parts like the bowl and the actual sink I will get a little later. I plan on making an inventory of the items needed for tomorrow. This would include the pricing of certain materials. If I do not have those products I will again be working on the poster board.

At the current rate I feel like I am currently on track.
